An important part of any small business partnership involves finding ways to add value for current and potential partners.

One great way to use StickyFolios is to surprise a small business partner with their own Folio that they can share with their customers.  It can be your way of saying thanks to a partner you've worked with for a while, or a way to build a relationship with someone you've just met.

You will want to make the Folio so that it is most helpful for your partner. To do this, think about their business, their needs and how you can help.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach here.  That said, here are some tips to consider:

  • Give it to them for free - Should you charge or give away the Folio? Both options have their pros and cons, but our advice is to give it to that business for free. It is a great way to build good will and you can also credit yourself towards the bottom of the Folio with a message such as "Photography by ..." and a link to your website.

  • Surprise them - Use your favorite images and show them what you've made for them.

  • Involve them in the process - For instance, maybe they would love to have the StickyFolio set up under their domain name.  Additionally, you can ask them for information about their business, awards they've won, etc., and include this information in one of the text sections.

  • Collect any other information you need to finish the Folio - That includes their contact details, logo, social media links, Google Analytics ID (if they have it set up), etc.

  • Find other ways to add value - After you give it to them, brainstorm with them about how they can best use the Folio in their business.  The best way to do this is by asking them lots of questions about their business and their goals, and then trying to figure out ways you can help them. For instance, help them figure out the best way to share their Folio with their customers and the world.  Bonus - by going through this process, you may identify other ways you can help them with photography of their staff, products, storefront, etc.
This can be a great stepping stone to building a stronger relationship with a small business partner.  Take advantage of this strategy!
